A comment was made to our blog about Pissed Consumer.

We thought it merited being brought to the main pages.
Although their math is wrong, it has not been up for three years yet, only a little over two years.

This is the comment:
“You have had a blog for about three years and you have gathered about 450 hits. If you look at Pissed Consumer we get 11,100 hits on just one posting for Rebath in six months. Don't you want your story told? No one is reading yours. You deserve to be heard. Consider also posting to Pissed Consumer. “

We checked it out. It is one we did peruse earlier and found many similarities nationwide to the way we were treated by Re-Bath.

This is pertinent since the owner of the Re-Bath we first dealt with claimed we were the only ones “bad-mouthing” Re-Bath.
Pretty much conclusive proof we are not the only ones who have had problems with this company and have been sharing our experiences about those problems. And compare the similarities. Almost shocking, but then we had to live through it and know firsthand the nightmare…

Note that we have been invited to share on this site, and that we have not already shared our story on this independent site. Kind of shows the invalidity of the statement made in court by that Re-Bath owner doesn’t it?

Do your research. Check out all available information before contracting with Re-Bath or ANY contractor.
Verify licenses if possible too. Our state allows you to do this online at no charge.
Be wary of any contractor that does not have his licensing in proper order.
Double check the names to verify the person’s name on the license and the person who is doing the work.

Be wary of fast talk to explain any discrepancies.
And get everything you can in writing, and double check the wording.

Have friends also check to see if there is any ambiguity (double-talk) written into it to provide wiggle room.
Despite what you are told, get it in writing.
Some sales people lie and say one thing, yet write another and will try to convince you to “trust” them. Don’t. Not any contractor.
If they are reputable, they will put it in writing. Clearly. Suggested routes

Hey Hal. Pretty interesting to discover that Pissed Consumer invited you to post your review on their site. This is the first time I've heard of that. From what I've seen, they've definitely built up a large database of complaints about any company you can think of.

I don't know if you'll decide to post there, but I wanted to let you know that I have posted there before and was surprised afterward to learn that they are a for-profit site. Anyone can post a complaint, but they try to up-sell you under the guise of "featuring" your article. They sell businesses "reputation management" services, but I'm not sure how they work and they certainly only work if the business you're talking about has signed up with them. Their site is also littered with Google Ads, which means their making money when someone whose searched on "[company] reviews", lands on their site, and then clicks an outbound link. (Blog post: http://www.seomoz.org/ugc/pissedconsumer-link-farm-dominating-google-serps)

When I discovered this stuff, it made me question their motives. I hate the idea of someone leveraging my frustration to stuff their own pockets.

At any rate, I'm sorry to learn of your frustration with Re-Bath. Hopefully it'll get resolved.

Lynne,
Thank you for that information. We had not planned to post on Pissed Consumer, but have not ruled it out either. The main point of bringing it to the forefront was to show the ridiculous claims made by the Re-Bath of CA owner were patently false and fully without value. It was absurd for him to say we are the only dis-satisfied customers of Re-Bath posting on the web, in a court of law especially.

We would guess you can always say no to the up sell and it is distressing but not unexpected that someone would find a way to profit from other peoples distresses. More alarming is if they are providing a service to “cleanse” disreputable businesses reputation, if that is indeed what they are doing. We think if a company rips someone off, they should face the consequences. Be it paying up, (and since in our case we were not fairly compensated), or having the truth shared publicly to warn others.

Thank you for sharing and your kind thoughts.

I am researching Pissed-Consumer. Your posting hit my search.

You have a problem with the robots text file, it is set not to have robots follow or index. You will want to edit this if you want something other than a direct hit. Change the "disallow" to "allow" or get your own hosing.

Hi Hal, I think I posted on the pissed off site too. I was really pissed off at what Re-Bth did to us and wanted everyone to be aware of them, just like you do here. Your site gives your honest assessment of what happened to you. like the letter I sent you of mine. Keep up the good work getting the word out about the rip off Re-Bath!

Thanks for the kind thoughts and publicly pointing out you too were dissatisfied with Re-Bath Lisa.

We were astounded (partly at the implied ignorance and more so at the dishonesty of the statement) when the Long Beach CA franchise owner claimed (in court) that we were the only people on the internet “badmouthing” Re-Bath. We certainly were not the first, and it is doubtful we will be the last, especially from the way this particular outfit continued to act towards years after we tried to be done with them.

Recounting our nightmare to protect others is not the same as continuing contact with them, despite what whacked out logic anyone tries to apply.

But sending threatening comments including claims of stalking and digging through our trash and descriptions of violent acts they offered to perpetrate on Re-Bath corporate officers? Even creating a false clone site to publicly slander us and paint us as disgusting people?

That is what we were sent for years after we thought we were done with Re-Bath. Seems to us someone related to Re-Bath did not want to move on as we tried to do.

Maybe the time has come to share with the world the comments we were treated to by this Re-Bath franchise owner, either directly by his hand, or at his behest. One thing is for sure, information was provided no one else except Re-Bath had about us, and we are quite confident the Re-Bath corporate people had better things to do than send us those obnoxious comments.

Who is Fatbutterfly2? Stay tuned…

I want to know who Fatbutterfly2 is. I saw that posting about you trying to pick up on and harass the salesman and wondered why it was posted by someone other than Helpfulhal.
